Veluwezoom Overview

Veluwezoom National Park, established in 1930, is the Netherlands’ oldest national park, located in the province of Gelderland. Veluwezoom National Park Trails

Posbank Loop

Rating: Easy

Distance and Elevation Gain: 3 miles (4.8 km) round trip, with an elevation gain of 150 feet (45 meters)

This path takes you past historic estates and offers chances to spot wild deer and boar. The varying terrain makes it a moderately challenging yet rewarding hike.

Herikhuizen Heath Trail

Rating: Easy

Distance and Elevation Gain: 2 miles (3.2 km) round trip, minimal elevation gain

Description: Ideal for a short, relaxing walk, this trail offers stunning views of the Herikhuizen Heath.

The area is a haven for birdwatchers, especially during migration periods.

Zijpenberg Loop

Description: This loop takes hikers to the summit of Zijpenberg, one of the highest points in Veluwezoom.

Beekhuizen to Rozendaal Trail

Distance and Elevation Gain: 7 miles (11.3 km) round trip, with an elevation gain of 300 feet (91 meters)

Description: Connecting the picturesque area of Beekhuizen with Rozendaal, this trail crosses streams, passes waterfalls, and winds through lush forests.

It’s a diverse hike that showcases the park’s varied ecosystems and historic elements, such as the Beekhuizen Ponds and Rozendaal Castle.
